Multi-national group Cross Gene, comprising of Japanese member Takuya, Chinese member Casper and 4 Korean members: Shin, Seyoung, Yongseok and Sangmin, were definitely a friendly bunch when they sat down with the media at the press conference for the Skechers Sundown Festival in Singapore. The 6 boys announced their arrivals with vibrant and loud “hellos” and “how are yous”, much to the amusement of media personnel in the room.
The press conference started with Cross Gene introducing themselves, after which they sat down with the media for a Q&A session. They mentioned that they were honoured and excited to be representing Korea on a stage where artistes from all over Asia would be putting on spectacular performances. The boys each signed a specially designed shirt afterwards which will be displayed in local Skechers stores soon!
A group interview was up on the agenda next. When asked if fans could expect more projects in the future such as variety shows and dramas from the other members, excluding Takuya and Shin, Shin said that Seyong had participated in musicals and the rest of the members have plans for other similar projects. They also plan to show their individual talents more. Hopefully we can see more of them on the different entertainment platforms soon!
Having performed on stages in different countries, the boys would no doubt have experienced many aspects of fan culture from fans of various countries. When asked what their favourite thing to see in the audience while performing on stage was, the boys first took a moment to recall their fond memories of singing and dancing on stage. Shin, as the group representative, said that they receive a lot of fan letters when they perform at concerts and one particular fan had said in her letter that their music had saved her life. Shin added that the group were touched to receive such letters and that they wanted to give back to their fans. To receive such letters makes them happy and that they were glad to have such a positive influence on their fans.
The press conference ended pleasantly with the boys participating in a photo session with the media. Afterwards, the Cross Gene bade farewell to all the media present excitedly with a very enthusiastic “Fighting!”.
