[PHILIPPINES] NU’EST Shares an Intimate but Powerful Night with their Filipino LOΛEs

Every artist has their own story. Tales of ups, downs, and all the bumps in between. Success doesn’t come easy, and NU’EST is one of the groups that know this oh-too-well. After years and years of going through the rough side of the industry, it’s finally their turn to show the world what they got.

This was evident as soon as they appeared in front of their Filipino LOΛEs last August 31. Starting with one of their most iconic songs, ‘여보세요 (Hello)‘, the passionate screams of longing from the audience were indescribable. Wearing classy white outfits, JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren continued on with their knights trilogy concept. This includes their hit songs such as ‘Love Paint’, ‘Overcome‘, and recent single, ‘Bet Bet‘.

Aside from making everyone swoon with their never-ending visuals and charisma, they also showed off their Tagalog speaking skills as they introduced using the language and uttered phrases like “Na-miss namin kayo! (We missed you!)” and “Masaya kami ngayon dahil kasama namin kayong lahat (We feel so happy right now that we’re with you).”

They then continued on with their solo performances starting with Baekho’s superior vocals as he performed ‘Thanksful For You‘; Aron made us want to grab a glass of wine and chill out as he sang a jazzy rendition of ‘Good Love‘; Ren didn’t fail to make everyone squeal as he showed his sexy side while performing ‘Paradise(huge shout out to the bed and cloth drapes that caused even more screaming from the audience); the whole venue saw the ‘Universe‘ as Minhyun lured us in with his powerful falsettos; and of course, the leader – JR – heated things up with ‘I Hate You‘.

Different sides of NU’EST were also showcased. The boys are not only charismatic but undeniable adorable as well. This was proven when they each did their own version of ‘RLTL (Real Love True Love)’.

Then it was time for a toned-down stage. The LOΛEs were serenaded with touching and emotional songs like ‘A Little Bit More…‘, ‘ONEKIS2‘, and ‘Lost & Found‘. The concert surely took us to a roller coaster of emotions as the boys brought back the mid-tempo tracks with the powerful and legendary songs: ‘Face‘, ‘Action‘, and ‘Beautiful Ghost‘. And finally, the fans screamed the fanchants as it was time for ‘Segno‘.

It seemed like the concert just started but in just what seemed like a blink of an eye, it was time for the encore stages. The boys opened the last segment of the night with the heartfelt lyrics of ‘A Song For You‘. LOΛEs didn’t fail to return the appreciation as they raised banners saying “We are each other’s strengths. We will love you forever.

During their last ment, NU’EST did not fail to express their gratitude towards the fans who have waited for them. They added that they were delighted that their Filipino LOΛEs had a good impression on them and they will remember the night forever. Ren then added that the enjoyable night was a sign that they should go to the Philippines more often (yes, please!).

There may have been tough and unsure parts in the fairy tale of NU’EST and LOΛEs, but one thing is for sure – the night in Manila was just a part of the many good things that comes with a happy ending to a perfectly crafted story. Or maybe it’s not an ending after all, but just a new chapter filled with wonderful beginnings.

The Seoul Story would like to thank Pulp Live World for the opportunity to cover the concert.
