[PHILIPPINES] MOMOLAND Chats With The Media On Rising Popularity & Support

MOMOLAND is currently one of the trending girl groups of this generation. As they released viral hits such as “BBOOM BBOOM” and “BAAM”, they had everybody singing to the catchy tunes and fun dance steps!

At their recently held press event in Manila, they talked about how they felt regarding their recent popularity, not just in the Philippines, but in other parts of the world as well. Hyebin shared that they were touched as their Filipino fans gave them a warm welcome as soon as they landed. JooE added that she’s amazed by their fans’ look of admiration as it usually isn’t the same back in Korea where people are used to seeing idols everywhere.

As they have the growing interest to be more connected with fans all around the world, MOMOLAND has decided to use Facebook as their platform to communicate and reach out to more people.  According to Daisy, they have always seen a lot of Filipinos in their live streams but it was nicer to be able to meet everyone in person.

One of the hottest topics of the press event is Nancy’s growing popularity in the country. From fancams that have went viral, she is said to resembe Filipina actress Liza Soberano and she shared she finds the actress gorgeous! Nancy also mentioned that she’s really honored with the compliments of people all over social media.

Also, have you ever uploaded a cover of ‘BBOOM BBOOM’ online? Well, there’s a chance that the girls might have seen yours as they admitted that they do watch videos related to them a lot. JooE said that she was touched that everyone tried to follow not just the dance but the hairstyle and the costumes that they wore in the MV.  They have also expressed the country has contributed so much to their career that they have decided to include the culture in the music video of their latest single, ‘BAAM’.

Continuing the chat, the girls named PSY as one of the artists they want to collaborate with but they are more than willing to do it with other groups as well. When they were asked about Filipino food they want to try, the girls immediately answered mango, adobo, and balut.

Ending off the media session on a happy note, MOMOLAND also reminded their Filipino fans that they are aware of all the support they are receiving from all be it through votings or other means.  We would like to thank Viu Philippines for allowing us to be part of this special event!
