[PHILIPPINES] Make it Big, Make it Groove: B.I.G Asia Tour in Manila

It was a rainy Saturday in the Philippines, but 5-member group B.I.G did not fail to deliver their overflowing charisma and unstoppable talent as they performed at ‘The B.I.GGINING: B.I.G Asia‘ Tour in Manila last September 2, 2017, at The Music Museum.

The South Korean boy group, who debuted in 2014 under G.H Entertainment, consists of members J-Hoon, Benji, Gun Min, Min Pyo, and Hee Do. Standing true to its name, the boys opened the show with their 2016 single ‘Aphrodite’ and jived in their own unique groove. Followed by more captivating performances such as their debut song ‘Annyeong Haseyo’, B.I.G proved to their Filipino crowd that they have both the looks and talents.

In a very sweet way to connect with their fans, they played a game on stage and answered a few questions. One of which was “Any Filipino word you learned recently?” While Min Pyo’s “Maganda” (beautiful) made the fans giddy, J-hoon created a huge uproar of laughter from the crowd when he answered “Jollibee”. B.I.G seemed to enjoy the food from this local chain a lot and happily shared their fondness for it.

Continuing the show, Benji’s violin solo performance surely made not only the fans proud but also his parents who were very supportive to attend the concert. Pretty in pink, J-Hoon, Benji, and Gun Min did their lovely rendition of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’.

The whole stadium soon turned into a state of euphoria; fans jumping and dancing around to J-Hoon’s sick DJ beats as he grasped everything in command. B.I.G came dashingly gorgeous in blue suits for ‘1.2.3′, ‘Between Night & Music’ and ‘Are You Ready?’ soon after.

You could say that B.I.G and their BIGinnings equally reciprocated each other’s love. While B.I.G expressed theirs through a well-thought performance (Gun Min led the group for this special stage in bopping to his personal favourite Brian Puspos choreography of ‘Wet the Bed’), the fans surprised the boys by sending letters through paper planes and gave them gifts – all of which were appreciated by B.I.G with their biggest smiles.

Their latest single ‘Hello, Hello’ hyped the fans even more, and until the end of the two-hour show, B.I.G was very interactive and even handed out candies to the fans. Gun Min mentioned in one of the videos the boys are members-turned-family to him, and it was certainly evident from their precise teamwork and heart-warming brotherhood on stage.

Witnessing this dynamic group was such an experience, and we from The Seoul Story are looking forward to these rising stars. We would like to extend our gratitude to All Access Production for the opportunity of media coverage for this event! 🙂
