JBJ has been breaking boundaries ever since they caught people’s attention during the popular survival program Produce 101 Season 2. Taehyun, Kenta, Sanggyun, Yongguk, Hyunbin, and Donghan proved that miracles do happen as they successfully finished their ‘COME TRUE’ Asia Fanmeeting Tour in Manila last January 14 at the Kia Theatre.
Living up to their group name, JBJ (Just Be Joyful) presented energetic performances and entertaining segments which gained enthusiastic responses from all of those who attended. As soon as the boys went on stage, Joyfuls (official fanclub name) screamed with all their might as they finally witnessed the boys perform LIVE!
Aside from the tracks included in their first mini album ‘Fantasy‘, JBJ also took us a ride down memory lane when they performed bits and pieces of songs from Produce 101 such as ‘Open Up’ with Kenta and Yongguk, ‘I Know You Know’ with Hyunbin and Donghan, then ‘Show Time‘ with Sanggyun and Taehyun. The crowd definitely enjoyed the nostalgic performances even more as the boys continued to show a short piece of their dance rendition of ‘Shape of You‘.
As the fan-meeting progressed, we got to know a bit more about JBJ as they shared some moments with the fans. Kenta expressed his thankfulness that he got to go back to Japan with his members as he always dreamed of taking his Korean friends to his home country. As for the topic of Filipino food, he shared his interest in Halo-Halo because he heard that it’s really well known worldwide. The members were asked to raise their hands if it was their first time in the country and all except Hyunbin did so. He told a story about how he went to the Philippines with his family when he was a kid, but when he was asked to share more memories, he said that he didn’t remember anything as he was still too young when it happened but he was positive that he had a great time.
The fans cried with laughter as the boys started to fool around while they played the games prepared. The first one was ‘Random Play Dance‘, which is a staple segment for K-pop groups and fans alike. Donghan unleashed his inner BTS fanboy as he nailed the first song ‘Fire‘ and cutie Kenta won a round of applause when he danced perfectly to ‘TT‘ by Twice.
Donghan once again strengthened his title ‘Maknae on top‘ as he explained that he only stood and watched the other members dance ‘Gashina’ by Sunmi since he often taught them the steps so he would like to see who learned the most. Sanggyun was an absolute goofball throughout the second game as he kept on making weird unlikely poses for the words given to them. In the end, the member with the lowest score was Yongguk, which resulted to him doing an aegyo dance.
JBJ is the perfect mix of cute, sexy, and fun as they concluded their fan-meeting with heartfelt words to their fans, promising to try their hardest to live to everyone’s expectations. Even though dubbed as a “miracle group”, the on-going success of the boys are well deserved as it is inevitable that they are inspiring countless of people through their music and unique personalities.
