With the aim of expanding their Asian content, Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service by PCCW Media officially debuted Viu Original in Singapore with a wide array of original Hong Kong content. Produced by ViuTV in Hong Kong, it offers a range of unique drama series, reality travelogues, culinary shows and infotainment talk shows. With the launch of these shows, it acts as a further boost to Viu’s already strong line-up of premium Asian content with vibrant, original, fresh, innovative and engaging selections available that offers a refreshing departure from traditional Hong Kong shows. All Viu users in Singapore will be able to catch Viu Original shows for free on or via the Viu mobile app, on both the free and paid subscription tiers. The programmes will be available in the original Cantonese audio with English subtitles for selected shows.

Today’s viewers are changing the landscape of the content industry not only with their online multi-screen viewing, but also in terms of their choice of content they are consuming. They are keen to expand the horizon of content they watch and to discover refreshing content that is not widely available. Viu Original will satisfy their appetites for ‘real and relatable characters’ and we expect that the shows will create a buzz among viewers.” – Ms Janice Lee, Managing Director, PCCW Media Group
