[MALAYSIA] SEVENTEEN Receives Public’s Attention at the SAEM Fansign

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur was filled with thousands of CARATs who waited since early morning to reserve the best spot for “the SAEM x SEVENTEEN Fansign”, which took place at 3PM on 16th February. After 5 months, SEVENTEEN returned as an ambassador for the SAEM, which had fans buying the SAEM products in order to join the fan sign event. The 13-member group only had 11 members who were able to join the fan sign event as The8 had another schedule and Jun was unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

The 2-hour delay prior to the event still had CARATs trying their best to give the most impressive chants for SEVENTEEN. At 5PM, the atmosphere in the shopping mall heated up with the presence of the 11 members of SEVENTEEN when they arrived. The group consisted of members S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi and Dino.

The members had their introduction and were thankful to the fans for the patience, showing their gratitude with some Malay phrases such as “Apa Khabar?” (“How are you?”) by Jeonghan, “Selamat Petang Kuala Lumpur!” (“Good afternoon Kuala Lumpur!”) by Vernon and “Saya Cinta Padamu!” (“I love you!”) which was said by Jeonghan, S.Coups, DK, and Mingyu. They were also taught to greet in Cantonese for a Chinese New Year greeting.

Vernon said that they all actually love chilli crab and Mingyu asked for recommendations, so the emcee suggested durian which had Seungkwan pointing at Wonwoo who liked i! They also said that they would like to try nasi lemak this time.

As the SAEM’s ambassadors, SEVENTEEN were asked to share their beauty routine. Wonwoo said that the most important thing they do is to remove their makeup and was their face right away at the end of the day. The emcee asked how the members look without makeup and Vernon said he pretty much looks the same while the emcee demanded on having any other realistic answer – but Wonwoo insisted that the members look the same with or without makeup.

SEVENTEEN captivated the audience’s heart with their cuteness as they did the “Harakeke Dance”, which is the SAEM’s signature dance. The organisers had a surprise cake for DK and Vernon whose birthdays were coming on 18th February, which had the fans singing Happy Birthday together!

Leader S.Coups revealed that they are gearing up for their next fan meeting and are also currently working hard to practice and write songs so they can share their new work with everyone. The emcee asked whether they can come over again tomorrow to hold a concert and Joshua replied that they would love that but they have another schedule so they hope that they will return to fulfill their fan’s request soon!

It was a short time but the fanservice by SEVENTEEN was satisfying, as we also saw that CARATs were very excited over meeting their favourite idols. We hope that SEVENTEEN will return to Malaysia for another event and have a good rest on the way back home.
