[MALAYSIA] GOT7 1st Fan Meeting in Kuala Lumpur

Last weekend, the 7 charismatic boys of groove dance group GOT7 (JB, Mark, Jr., Jackson, Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom) visited Malaysia for an exclusive fanmeeting event! Their fans, affectionally dubbed IGOT7s, arrived at KL Live in droves for a chance to interact with and watch the boys perform live.

Before the event, the boys took some time to sit down and answer questions from members of the media. Leader JB got the ball rolling and expressed his gratitude for their friendly Malaysian fans. He also said that the members would like to visit places in the country where they could chill and relax.

Jackson teased fans with a ‘top secret’ comeback and mentioned that a new album is in the works. He also shared that his favourite episode of ‘Roommate’, a variety show which he is a fixed guest on, was the Christmas special where his parents visited him from all the way in Hong Kong. Lastly, he would use an interesting method of whispering ‘Hey, I’m from GOT7′ into new fans’ ears to recruit them into the fandom! The boys ended the press conference by expressing their affection for and thanking their supportive fans.

GOT7 kicked off the fanmeeting with lively performances of their hit songs ‘Stop Stop It’ and ‘Gimme’. Then, there was a nice change of pace as fans were treated to renditions of ‘Moonlight’ and ‘Forever Young’. Near the end, the boys kicked it up a notch again with high-energy songs ‘A’, debut track ‘Girls Girls Girls’ and lastly, ’Bounce’!

What fanmeeting would be complete without special events and activities with the fans? Firstly, the members performed a Malay traditional dance as a nod to Malaysian culture, and lucky fans were then invited to come on stage for a photo session with the boys! The members then pulled messages, lovingly written by the fans, from a box and read them aloud. IGOT7s in the crowd also did their part by screening a special VCR for the band, and even prepared a birthday cake to celebrate Jackson’s birthday in advance!

It was certainly a night to remember for GOT7 and their Malaysian fans. The boys were sprightly and put up amazing performances for the audience, and IGOT7s even went the extra mile to respond in kind. We would like to wish GOT7 all the best for their album preparation and impending comeback!
