1415

Comprising of vocal and lyricist JOO (in blue) and guitarist and songwriter OH (in white), the duo is definitely a group you should check out! With their group name being derived from the chords that were most often used when creating their new song, 1415’s good looks and heartwarming songs will definitely pull you and your heartstrings as they serenade you with their vocals.

Q: Hi, nice to meet you! Please introduce yourselves to our readers.
A: Hi, we are 1415. I am JOO, and I am the singer on 1415. And I’m Oh Ji Hyun (OH) on guitar.

Q: Congratulations on the release of your first EP, DEAR: X, in April. Can you tell us more about it and is there a track from the EP that you’d like to recommend to our readers?
A: [JOO] ‘Dear: X’ is our debut album with five tracks about love, starting a relationship, being in love, or having a crush on someone. We hope you enjoy the music and the lyrics.

[OH] I recommend the title track ‘Draw The Line’.

Q: If your Singaporean fans were to come to Korea, where would you recommend them to go, and what would you recommend them to eat?
A: [OH] You should go to Itaewon, Hongdae, and Kyeongbokgung. Two of the most active places and one of the most Korean places.

[JOO] There’s something that my American friends love to eat in Korea. It’s ‘chimac’. Have you heard of it? It’s fried chicken and beer. I don’t think it’s popular in other countries. You must try that in Korea.

YEIN

With the genre ‘Future Classica’ as the driving force behind her music, YEIN’s voice is most definitely interesting and will captivate you with its dreamy and mysterious tone and feel. Having being exposed to various art forms since young, this multi-talented artist can play a variety of instruments such as classical guitar, piano and violin as well as do ballet. With the release of her first EP, ‘Rose of Sharon’, on 16th June 2017, YEIN’s six original tracks will most definitely draw you in!

Q: Please introduce yourself to our readers.
A: Hi, I’m Yein who does future-classica music.

Q: You’ve done a lot of covers on both SoundCloud and Instagram. Can you tell us more about Jose, the song that you composed and wrote with kowabonga that was uploaded on SoundCloud?
A: I didn’t think you’d know this song, “Josee”. It’s one of my most favorite songs. It was inspired by the Japanese film,”Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.” And I’ve seen the film several times but one day, it felt different. So, I decided to write a song about it and wrote the lyrics with my friend. The song was written in just one night. It was a fun experience sharing an inspiration from a movie and making music about it.

Q: What about your plans are for 2017?
A: My first EP is coming out in June. Some songs that I featured in are also on the way and another single is later in 2017.

TAEK

With two digital singles, ‘Liar’ and ‘Send Me To The Galaxy’ released in 2016 and his first EP, “We’re Always Together” released in May 2017, TAEK is most definitely an artist that you should check out! Creating music that has a somewhat sophisticated and dreamy sound, TAEK’s tracks gives off a mixed feel of hip hop, R&B, soul and electronic music which TAEK hopes to delivery the stories he has to tell and spark a conversation with his listeners through his music.

Q: Hi, please introduce yourself to our readers.
A: Hello, I’m TAEK. I’m a producer and singer-songwriter. My debut EP, ‘We’re Always Together’, is out now and I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Q: Congratulations on the release of your first EP! Can you tell us more about it and when would be the best time or situation that you’d recommend (first time) listeners to listen to your music?
A: My EP, ‘We’re Always Together’, contains love songs that’s not about happy love but about being hurt in love. It’s great for before you go to bed, when you’re driving, when it rains or when you’re chillaxing.

Q: If your Singaporean fans were to come to Korea, where would you recommend them to go, and what would you recommend them to eat?
A: You should visit Itaewon and Hongdae where you can get the vibe of young and interesting people hanging out there. You should also visit the palaces and more traditional parts of Seoul, like Jongno. You’ll be able to experience various cultures. There’s also my favorite chopped noodle place in Jongno.

TAEK also gave a shout out to our readers. Check it out in the video below!
