[INDONESIA] Get to the Top of the World with Wanna One “ONE: THE WORLD” Tour in Jakarta

On July 15th, the eleven beloved boys of Wanna One returned to Indonesia for ‘ONE: THE WORLD’ Tour at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD!

Starting on a High Note
Accompanied by impressive light shows, the eleven boys stepped onto the stage for the reunion Indonesian Wannables had been wishing for. Looking dapper in all white aviation style suits, they heated up the night with ‘Burn It Up’, ‘Never’, and ‘Energetic’. They made Indonesian Wannables screamed their hearts out without time to rest as Hwang Minhyun took over the stage for his solo. Dancing in all white to ‘독무’, he somehow managed to turn a simple strip of black cloth into a weapon of mass destruction. But he wasn’t alone, because it was Bae Jinyoung‘s turn afterwards and boy was seriously not playing. To say that his stage was hot would be an understatement. And to heat it up even further, Lai Kuanlin and Park Jihoon joined him on stage for a downright cry-worthy performance of ‘Eleven’. Just like their unit name, they were truly Number One on stage!

But heated stage performances weren’t the only thing that Wanna One had up their sleeves for the concert. They also swooned Wannables with the sweet voice of Hwang Minhyun, Ha Sungwoon, and Yoon Jisung as the Lean on Me unit performed ‘Forever and A Day’. Meanwhile, Park Jihoon and Park Woojin wore all black and swept Wannables off their feet with their dance stage, and all eleven members topped it off by coming together for a mesmerising performance of ‘Boomerang’.

A Healing Time for Indonesian Wannables
Once the concert was back in full force after a delay, Wanna One continued with breathtaking performances of ‘Day by Day’ and ‘Beautiful’, followed by Kang Daniel‘s solo dance performance over the tune of Beautiful. Those mid-air moves of his were truly beautiful, and he looked like a work of art.

But the treats weren’t over because it was Kim Jaehwan‘s turn to perform an acoustic version of “I’ll Remember” with his honey voice. The others joined him afterwards, looking heavenly in black and white fittings as they swept Wannables off of their feet with the original version of I’ll Remember, ‘Wanna’, and ‘Always’. As Wannables and Wanna One sang together, Lee Daehwi got teary-eyed and complimented Indonesian Wannables for sounding so good. He repaid them by joining forces with Ong Seongwoo for a healing performance of ‘Sandglass’, right after his solo piano performance and Ong Seongwoo’s contemporary dance stage.

Have Fun Like There’s No Tomorrow
The atmosphere took a turn when Kang Daniel, Park Woojin, and Kim Jaehwan presented their cute performance of ‘Kangaroo’. The fun continued with a funny VCR featuring Lee Daehwi, Yoon Jisung, and Park Woojin as doctors of love, intelligence, and passion respectively. They cutely worked together as they tried to turn on all needed effects and preparation to turn this night into an unforgettable party with the help of Indonesian Wannables.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without a DJ. So DJ Yoon Jisung came on stage and had everyone turnt up with his mad DJing skills and fancy light plays! Kim Jaehwan, Kang Daniel, Park Woojin, and Ong Seongwoo joined him, dancing and playing like they’re in actual club before passing over the baton to Ha Sungwoon, who took over the stage with his solo dance to DJ Jisung’s remix of Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore”. Not one to lose, Lai Kuanlin popped up after and snatched hearts right and left as he danced to Lil Dicky’s ‘Freaky Friday’.

Of course, it’d be such a shame if the fun stopped there. So the full team went back on stage to perform ‘Wanna Be (My Baby)’, ‘Twilight’, ‘나야 나’, and ‘Gold’. Clad in their iconic jerseys, they played like there was no tomorrow. From creating a human pyramid on stage until walking off stage, they did it all with huge smiles on their faces. Including when they came back for an encore with ‘Light’ and ‘I.P.U’.

A Sincere Exchange of Feelings
More than just the performance, it was their playfulness and sincerity that truly left Indonesian Wannables with a night to remember. When Ong Seongwoo and Lee Daehwi were preparing for their stage, Hwang Minhyun asked the translator to teach the rest of Wanna One how to confess their love to Indonesian Wannables. He came to learn how to say, “Cantik banget,” (You’re so beautiful), “Pegang tangan aku,” (Hold my hand ), and “Lihat aku aja,” (Just look at me). The boys then took turns confessing their love. Starting from Bae Jinyoung and Park Jihoon who asked Wannables to just look at them in their own style, continued by Lai Kuanlin who said, “Cantik banget,” with a smile and Ha Sungwoon who offered his hand while asking Wannables to hold his. Last but not least, Kim Jaehwan stole the hearts of Indonesian Wannables when he sang, “Lihat aku aja,” to the tone of Always.

Even when they were bidding goodbyes, they only had sweet sincere words. Kuanlin felt that the incident was such a shame, but he and Park Jihoon both promised they’d come again. While Bae Jinyoung, Ha Sungwoon, and Kim Jaehwan were glad that they were able to enjoy the night and create good memories with Indonesian Wannables.

Clearly, it was another night to remember for Wanna One. Because Lee Daehwi and Yoon Jisung remembered the warm welcome they received when they first came to Indonesia, and was glad they could return to an even hotter welcome. Ong Seongwoo admitted he was pleasantly surprised to hear Wannables sang along to their songs, and Park Woojin prased Indonesian Wannable’s energy with, “We can hear your voices even from backstage.”

What truly made everyone weak on their knees, however, was Kang Daniel and Hwang Minhyun’s attention to Indonesian Wannable’s well being. “No matter what, please ensure your own safety. Don’t get hurt,” Kang Daniel sincerely requested, while Hwang Minhyun bid Indonesian Wannables goodbye with a, “I won’t forget tonight. Please be careful on your way home.” It was a night unlike any other, and it was definitely one that Indonesian Wannables won’t forget.

The Seoul Story would like to extend our huge thank you to IME Indonesia for the chance to be part of this magical night! 🙂
