[FEATURE] Get to Know THE BOYZ, Powerful Rookies who Keep on Thriving Throughout Time

Some of you are probably familiar with the newest boy group from Cre.Ker Entertainment, The Boyz, who had successfully brought home Rookie of The Year trophies from a few annual K-Pop award shows in 2018. Debuted on December 2017, The Boyz members are definitely not just your ordinary boys. Each boy is full of charms and talents and we’re going to let you have a closer look at Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Juhaknyeon, Hwall, Sunwoo, and Eric throughout time.



Pre-Debut Appearances





You’re probably familiar with some of The Boyz’s members since some of them already have TV and music video appearances before their debut. Kevin was a contestant on K-Pop Star 6 and sang an OST for drama Saimdang, Light’s Diary in 2017 prior to his debut while Sunwoo was a contestant on High School Rapper in January 2017. Juhaknyeon was also a contestant on talent show Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017 where he successfully secured a place in Top 20. Younghoon appeared in some music videos like I.O.I – Whatta Man, John Park – DND, and Melody Day – Colour with Hwall, Hyunjae, and Eric while Juyeon, Hyunjae, Sangyeon, and Juhaknyeon also appeared in Melody Day – You Seem Busy MV.

They were introduced as Cre.kerz in July 2017 and were highly anticipated by the public. They also released their first variety show called Flower Snack before officially debuting with their first EP aptly called The First, with their title track, Boy.



Debut and Responses


On 6th December 2017, The Boyz officially debuted with 12 members and immediately gained a lot of fans. Along with their first comeback, The Boyz announced their fandom name as The B, which means The Boyz’ Vitamin. They also provided special content for The Bs through their own reality shows, The 100 and Come On! The Boyz that you definitely should not miss out on.

With 3 mini albums and one single album so far, The Boyz successfully snatched Rookie of The Year awards at the Asia Artist Awards, Gaon Chart Music Awards, Korea Popular Music Awards, Melon Music Awards, Korea Brand Awards, V Live Awards, and Soribada Best K-Music Awards in 2018 – 2019, proving strong popularity in their home country at the beginning of their career.



Future Activities and First Tour



Not only in South Korea, The Boyz also receive good responses from K-Pop fans all around the world. As the first step to getting closer with international fans, The Boyz announced their first Asia Tour called “The Castle”. In this fan-meeting cum concert a.k.a FanCon, The Boyz will give The Bs a special and unforgettable experience with their special performances, probably with some new songs as part of the setlist as their comeback is approaching 😉

For Indonesian The Bs, The Boyz’ Fan-Con “The Castle” will be held on 22nd June 2019 at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta. Some tickets are still available at tiket.com but act fast because they can get sold out any minute!
